Once completed, please submit applications to the Coastal Resources office at 301 Great Island Road, Narragansett, RI, 02882 for processing. The fishing or landing licenses of those applying for this program must be renewed for 2024 before a letter of authorization can be issued.
Applications for yearly parking placards for Galilee State Parking Lot G are available for mail-in or in-person submission at RIDEM Division of Coastal Resources at 301 Great Island Rd, Narragansett, RI 02882. Please provide the completed application (link below) and the documents listed on the application. For mail applications, we will mail the completed placard back to the address listed on your application.
Yearly Parking Application for State Parking Lot G Placards may be obtained via mail or in person. Please provide the registration of each vehicle (or copy), the driver's license of the applicant, and that of the owner of vehicle 2 if different. All documents are required yearly. The Coastal Resources Division is responsible for the development, management, and maintenance of the Port of Galilee, State Pier #9 (Newport), State Pier #4 (Jerusalem), State Pier #5 (Narragansett), and Chase Marina (Tiverton). These properties comprise 41 piers and 24 lease holdings with an approximate combined value of over $100 million. The Division also supports the commercial fishing and aquaculture industries in Rhode Island.
The Port of Galilee is one of the largest commercial fishing ports on the East Coast and is the home port to over 250 commercial fishing vessels. State Pier #9 is the only state-owned facility supporting commercial fishing vessels in Newport Harbor and provides dockage for approximately 50 vessels.
A wide range of seafood is landed in Rhode Island. Take a look at catch and landing information from last week provided by DEM Division of Marine Fisheries. Chances are you'll find the below species at your local market and retailer. Remember to ask for RI Seafood!
